“The key of learning management is the students-centered concept which includes process arrangement and teaching goal setting,”

said Prof. Dr. Vicharn Panich, advisor to the Equitable Education Fund (EEF).

A number of teaching methods today exist more than just teachers standing in front of the classroom. The rise of online sources facilitates information search by which students can do it on their own. For that reason, educational organizations are obliged to readjust the core of teaching which is “knowledge management” on the important question: how do education personnel manage knowledge to its most efficiency?

The EEF then arranged the Teachers for Students Project or Online PLC Coaching to fulfill teachers with knowledge. The project aims to demonstrate teachers the significance of applying the lessons to students’ daily lives and collaboratively building a decent learning method for students to understand the pivot of the lessons, apart from memorization. The interesting part of the project is the knowledge teachers must have and what they must do to achieve the project objectives.

Empirical learning for every student

Prof. Dr. Vicharn Panich, advisor to the EEF stated in the project conference that the true learning goal of the era must progress respectively on the superficial level, the deep level, and the transfer level in which the knowledge is practical to different situations. Memorization without understanding is superficial.

Prof. Dr. Vicharn Panich, advisor to the EEF stated in the project conference that the true learning goal of the era must progress respectively on the superficial level, the deep level, and the transfer level in which the knowledge is practical to different situations. Memorization without understanding is superficial. The core of learning is not only studying the “subjects,” but also delving into purification of habits, beliefs and virtues which are more vital to life than general lessons. “Visible Learning” should be the prototype of learning for schools because such type of learning focuses on the hidden “values”. Both teachers and students must be logical in terms of the values of learning toward living in the present and building on the future. Children should achieve the 4 main goals as follows: 1.สSet a clear goal decent and obvious goals encourage students to strive and develop themselves to reach the goals 2.Observe one’s own learning assessment through what they have built 3. Notice one’s own learning behaviorsว่on which learning method and environment they are suitable to, and 4. Be able to develop one’s own learningby managing, assessing and adjusting one’s own way of study.

Holistic learning management centered on students

The goal of teachers is to illuminate students to discover their own goals. With Holistic Learning in cooperation with various sectors including directors, teachers, students’ families and the community to create the environment that best serves learning, teachers must know each of their students to set objectives that are coherent with the students’ needs, aptitudes and interests. This form of learning embraces not only academic knowledge, but also a process that develops attitudes, skills and knowledge, leading to the deep level and the transfer level of learning in which students can build on in the future.

“The key of learning management is the students-centered concept which includes process arrangement and teaching goal setting. By which, teachers must shape themselves, students and the professional dignity of teachers. Not only the teachers who must act as founders and develop the skills of teachers in creating the future of the country, but also the directors, the parents, the community and the people of the ministry. It is essential that everyone interact and support one another on this matter.”

Learn through actions, reflect on ideas

Prof. Dr. Vicharn pointed deeply into the learning process on the view that educational management is not mainly about passing on knowledge to children. However, what needs to be emphasized is “practices,” for the children to create knowledge in themselves. According to the principle of the new era of learning, the human brain learns best through experiences and the reflection of one’s own thoughts which can be conducted both individually and collectively. Mind mapping or concept mapping is one’s separate way to organize and stimulate the thought to obtain better understanding of the lessons while group brainstorming is a presentation where people in the group will be supervised and supported by a facilitator.

Create a learning atmosphere for better outcomes

One subject teachers should foreground is creating “the atmosphere” that supports students’ learning. Teachers and facilitators must make the classroom a safe place for all students. Instead of defecting, teachers ought to give students feedback through proper utterance for students to develop themselves. As a result, students feel comfortable interacting in the classroom.A satisfactory learning atmosphere accordingly encourages students to pay more attention to learning and begin to set various goals in their minds. Teachers and the process supervisors are responsible for helping students set their own goals individually along with creating inspirations that are challenging and amusing in every class.

Dr. Udom Wongsing, Director of the Teachers and Schools development Office of Equitable Education Fund (EEF) said that the Teachers for Students Project has recently arranged training for teachers through Zoom more than three times with the intention to provide teachers with advantages to develop the learning outcome of their own pupils.

The participating schools under the Teachers for Students Project today have begun to create visible learning through projects or products that students can construct on their own. All of these occur in the environment that gnarly and safely supports learning with the help of teachers and the process supervisors. Prof. Dr. Vicharn and Dr. Udom expect that this kind of learning will expand to other schools all over the country.
